Song Name: Sleepwalk
Song Artist: Ultravox
Song Length: 1:39
Genre: Rock
Song Release Date: June 1980
Valid excuses produced for missing the last four DDRExtreme simfile competitions: 0

mp3: Taken from the album Ultravox - Greatest Hits, then cut down in length in Audacity.
Graphics: GIMPed. That means I did them in the program called the GIMP, not put them in rubber and ask them to copulate. I'm not an artist at the best of times, but I had to do them with a broken collarbone and a trackpad so give me a break.
Videos: downloaded from digitaljuice.com and then converted to avi in WinMPG convert.
File sponsor: DDRExtreme.co.uk - who else?

Step details:

Single:

Beginner (3) - Steps 163, Jumps 12 (max combo 175)
Hacked down from the easy steps but still too hard to be a 2. I'm "really" sorry for this laziness.

Easy (3) - Steps 196, Jumps 14, Freezes 8 (max combo 210)
Nothing special, as unexciting as 3 foot songs can be.

Medium (5) - Steps 299, Jumps 31, Freezes 7 (max combo 330)
Tried to periodically break up what is predominantly a quarter stream by putting in eighths. That's unfotunately the typical medium step layout for me.

Hard (7) - Steps 381, Jumps 36, Freezes 32 (max combo 417)
It's hard not to go karaoke on this song, but I did my best by implementing slow gallops and trying to switch from the main rhythm to the backbeat. Like that last sentence, it's about making it look like you know what you're doing even if you are making it up as you go along.

Challenge (9) - Steps 464, Jumps 36, Freezes 56, Hands 27, Mines 10 (max combo 500)
These steps are more of an exercise in two things: firstly as a demonstration showing the variety of things that you can do with freezes, hands and mines; and secondly as a demonstration of why this song shouldn't have had a 9 foot singles chart! I insist the combo figure was purely coincidental.

Edit: alt-Challenge (9) - Steps 464, Jumps 36, Freezes 51, Rolls 5, Hands 27, Mines 10 (max combo 500)
Now this is what the challenge steps should have looked like - it's the same chart but five of the freezes are now rolls. I kicked up a bit of a storm when I asked if I could use rolls, and as I wasn't satisfied that they would be compatible enough I decided to have an external edit. If AND ONLY IF you are running the 4.0 CVS build, place this in your edits folder in your profile. If you aren't, don't worry about it.

Double:

Easy (3) - Steps 186, Jumps 17, Freezes 12 (max combo 203)
Medium (5) - Steps 297, Jumps 17, Freezes 19 (max combo 314)
A bad rush-job. I only included them for completeness.

Hard (8) - Steps 421, Jumps 29, Freezes 17 (max combo 450)
It was hard enough avoiding karaoke syndrome on one hard chart. Doing it twice is even harder. Although there are fewer steps than the singles chart, the turns are too complex for a 7.

Random readme padding stuff type thingy: So I haven't been entering stuff for a while. This is largely due to unforseen circumstaces revolving around the fact that nobody wants to employ me. Anyway, newly equipped with broadband (after Norfolk learned what the internet was) I enter this. It's not my best work, but it's the best my circumstances allowed.
